Moderator
Moderators are the guardians of MCOasis, responsible for maintaining peace and order within the community. They enforce server rules, mediate disputes, and ensure that all players adhere to the standards of behavior expected on the server. Moderators play a vital role in fostering a welcoming and inclusive environment where players can enjoy their Minecraft experience without fear of harassment or disruption. This is currently not a paid staff position and you would be helping MCOasis for free.
Are there specific guidelines or rules moderators need to follow?
Yes, moderators must follow many of the same rules that apply to regular members.
What tools or bots does the server use to assist with moderation?
Our server uses several plugins and tools such as DiscordSRV, InvSee, and Core-Protect to help manage and maintain the community.
Is there a probationary period for new moderators?
Yes, the probationary period typically lasts a week but can be extended or shortened depending on the situation.
How are moderators selected and evaluated?
We select and evaluate moderators based on their experience, as well as their performance during the interview and application process.
What kind of training or orientation is provided for new moderators?
While there is no formal training program at MCOasis, other moderators will help train new moderators in performing the necessary tasks.
Are moderators allowed to have personal opinions or participate in discussions as regular members?
Yes, moderators are allowed to have personal opinions and participate in discussions as regular members. While they are encouraged to moderate events, they can choose to opt-out and participate in some events instead.
Are there opportunities for advancement or additional responsibilities within the moderation team?
Yes, over time, moderators can advance to higher positions within the moderation team, which may come with additional responsibilities and authority.
